Who Would Benefit From Taking An Online First Aid Training?
Who wouldn’t? Actually, the course is not difficult, doesn’t take too long, and is often offered free. If you want the pretty piece of paper (certificate) to show off, online first aid training companies will charge you to send that out, but otherwise, it can be mercifully inexpensive to learn from an online first aid training company.
But some people benefit more than others, right? There are some categories of people who should automatically plan to have first aid training, just for the use it would have in their lives.
Who And Why?
First of all, obviously people who are mandated by their company to have first aid training will need to have it. For example, in an environment where the employees work with dangerous chemicals or machinery, first aid training is a must. Often, the first aid training is provided by their employer, as many employees can take the course together in one day. Some employers are comfortable with it being an online first aid training, other employers prefer to have the Red Cross give first aid training to their employees.
Another category of people who should particularly have first aid training are parents with young children. There are many dangers in the world of a small child – poisons, falls, cars, etc. A wise parent is aware of the dangers and does what they can to mitigate the dangers. But not all dangers can be avoided. You can’t keep children from riding tricycles for fear they will fall off and get hurt, or keep them from playing in the backyard, though they might get a bug bite. It is the duty of parents to know how to treat injuries when they happen, as well as do what they can to prevent them from happening in the first place. Wise parents take an online first aid training, which can even be taken from home while their young child is napping.
Dealing everyday with children a bit older are school teachers. Have you seen how busy kids can get on the playground, with the jungle gym, crossing bars, and asphalt? Schools to what they can to protect the children, but there are always the potential for unexpected accidents. Older students also face dangers when they are in chemistry classes, physical education classes, etc. Teachers should be first aid trained (online is great) to help them deal with medical situations when they arise. Particularly because the children know the teachers, they can be of great comfort to an injured student, whether the teacher can totally solve the problem – like with a bandaid and some antibiotic – or if the teacher helps keep the student calm while the ambulence is en route to the school.
Obviously, those who are law enforcement personnel will have a first aid training course, because they are likely to need their training – perhaps not on a daily basis, but frequently.
Those who babysit are smart if they take an online first aid training before they begin watching other people’s children. It doesn’t have to cost anything – many online first aid trainings are free.
Also those who work with the elderly or live with them would benefit from first aid training as well.
Members of many specific groups should pay particular attention to getting first aid training, perhaps with an online first aid training.
As busy as the school year is, it’s still no time to let kids forget the importance of making a difference. There are plenty of simple ways to involve kids in the community when they’re not in class.

As teens head back to the classroom this fall, they’ll be assigned a lot of homework in the three “Rs”: reading, writing, and arithmetic. Important to students’ success will be the homework parents do in teaching two other “Rs”: role modeling and responsibility.

(NC)—Spring and summer mean more than flowers, rain showers, vacation and relaxation. The warm weather also brings a little known fact and an unwelcome reality: more child-pedestrian injuries and deaths than any other time of year. Walking is a child’s first means of independent transportation and often the most accessible, yet child-pedestrian incidents are a [...]
Right on the money with who should take first aid training. One of the best things my local fire union did was take Red Cross training to the public. Even online training can give a person enough tools to be effective. One thing that always amazed me was when we pulled up to an emergency scene was the lack of care being given by bystanders.
